The Hannahville Indian Community, located in the beautiful central Upper Peninsula of Michigan, is dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare for our community.
The full-time opportunity of Physician/Medical Director is responsible for providing direct patient care at the newly built, state of the art, Tribal Health Center. Selected candidate will provide oversight of medical programs and operations, ensuring quality healthcare is delivered. The medical director assists in maintaining the daily operations of the clinical setting to meet patient medical needs and expectations. The position is responsible for medical decisions and care provided to patients on a daily basis, along with providing oversight and assistance to nursing personnel assigned to the patient care team. Base wage is $225,000 , dependent upon qualifications, with a single $25,000 sign on bonus. Comprehensive and competitive benefit package included. Responsibilities
- Lead the medical team in providing high-quality patient care and health services.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with the Health and Human Services Director to implement health initiatives that enhance patient experience.
- Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Oversee managed care programs to ensure effective patient management.
- Conduct regular assessments of health services and implement improvements as necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical regulations and industry standards.
Qualifications
Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (OD) with professional board certification. Family practice preferred but will consider Internal Medicine/Pediatrics. Must be currently licensed and in good standing with the State of Michigan with no previous suspension or revocation of license. Drug Enforcement Administration License, Basic Life support or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation also required upon hire.
