JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Business Education Instructor
Primary Supervisor: Director of Hannibal Career and Technical Center
DURATION: 180 Days, plus 3 extended contract days, FBLA 3% stipend from base salary
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Business Education Teacher to
join our dynamic faculty. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching business
concepts and preparing students for success in both academic and professional environments.
The Business Education Teacher will be responsible for teaching a variety of business-related
courses, including but not limited to, computer applications, business law, accounting, and legal
term.
Qualifications: Business Education Teaching Certification
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Supervision of all students assigned in instructional activities.
2. Plan and implement curriculum to meet competency requirements.
3. Establish learning objectives for each lesson and maintain lesson plans for each instructional
unit.
4. Develop and implement a variety of teaching strategies.
5. Develop and adapt instructional materials and experiences to meet individual student needs.
6. Establish and maintain an effective climate for learning.
7. Maximize use of instructional time.
8. Assess and record student progress on a regular basis through District grading scale.
9. Maintain accurate attendance records on students and follow school procedures for reporting
attendance of students.
10. Enforce safety policies and practices as required by state and federal law and the school
district.
11. Serve as a positive role model and leader for students to follow.
12. Ability to effectively combine an array of methods to enhance understanding, including
demonstrations, group discussions and activities, individual activities, etc.
13. Improve students' knowledge of business practices.
14. Deliver the skills and knowledge necessary for students to function as responsible citizens in
the business world.
15. Create projects designed to enhance lectures.
16. Read and stay abreast of current topics in business.
17. Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.
18. Maintain a current and accurate inventory of all equipment, tools, and supplies.
19. Participate in parent conferences, career and technical education department meetings,
interdisciplinary team planning, and IEP meetings.
Marginal Duties:
1. Plan and conduct appropriate education field trips.
2. Maintain appropriate substitute teacher file.
3. Evaluate and recommend instructional aids and textbooks.
4. Must attend on-going education (clinics) related to new technologies.
5. Be an active FBLA co-advisor.
6. Organize, attend and participate in Business program Advisory Committee Meetings two
times a year.
