Job Title: Gifted Education Instructor
Location: Hannibal Middle School
Job Summary:
The Gifted Education Instructor is responsible for identifying, assessing, and providing specialized instruction to students with exceptional intellectual abilities. The instructor will design and implement differentiated curriculum and learning experiences that challenge and support gifted students, fostering their academic and creative growth. The role involves working closely with classroom teachers, parents, and other school staff to ensure the needs of gifted students are met both in and outside of the regular classroom setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and assess students eligible for gifted education services.
- Develop and deliver individualized or small-group instruction for gifted students.
- Create a stimulating and challenging learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers to modify the general curriculum for gifted students.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Participate in professional development opportunities related to gifted education.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Gifted Education, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Certification or endorsement in Gifted Education (or eligibility to obtain).
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development and differentiation strategies.
- Experience working with gifted students is preferred.
