What are the responsibilities and job description for the Monitor Technician position at Hannibal Regional Hospital?
The Monitor Technician is responsible for on-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provides RNs and other clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms. The Monitor Technician issues and receives return of telemetry units for the medical surgical unit and maintains the inventory of telemetry cables for this unit. Performs all clerical tasks for the coordination of the non-direct patient care needs.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Completes basic cardiac monitoring course and demonstrates adequate knowledge of cardiac dysrhythmia
- Ability to maintain ongoing, high-level surveillance of patients' cardiac rhythms and notify nursing / clinicians of any rate / rhythm changes
- Ability to greet and serve visitors and others in a manner conductive to positive customer relations
- Ability to organize and handle multiple projects / priorities
- Knowledge of proper English, Spelling and Grammar
- Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships
- Ability to work under moderate pressure for extended periods of time.
- Ability to accept responsibility for accuracy and response times to emergent and non-emergent requests.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
