What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Coordinator position at HANNUM WAGLE & CLINE ENGINEERING INC?
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with HWC's engineers to coordinate the relocation of utilities across the state of Indiana for both INDOT and Local Public Agencies (LPA).
- Conduct Utility Coordination per the INDOT Standard Utility Coordination Process for INDOT Projects and accelerated Utility Coordination Procedures for local projects.
- Conduct frequent coordination with internal project teams, INDOT, LPA’s, and utility companies.
- Implement knowledge and contacts to navigate INDOT and LPA project development process.
- Strong communication skills and contacts in utility and railroad industries.
- Emphasis on teamwork and ability to work collaboratively with others through multiple design and project development processes.
- Interact effectively with consulting firms partnering with HWC, INDOT staff, local government agency staff, and HWC’s multi-disciplined staff
What You Need
- 4 years of experience in the Highway or Utility Industry
- INDOT Certified Utility Coordinator or ability to obtain certification within 90 days
- Ability to think critically, manage time, and problem solve independently
- Strong data analysis and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Working knowledge of scheduling and tracking tools, Bluebeam and/or Adobe, & MS Office software
- Applicant must possess high ethical standards, have a strong sense of commitment to self-development, teamwork, and a desire to work in a deadline-driven team environment
SKILLS PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED
- EIT or Professional Engineering License
- Working knowledge of Microstation/InRoads
- INDOT Railroad Coordination Certification
- Experience with utility coordination and relocation on alternative delivery projects
