What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supplier Development Engineer position at Hanon Systems?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Supplier Development Engineer ensures that supplying companies systems, processes and build capabilities meet the design intent of the customer and are compliant with the end customer’s need
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Track the supplier’s performance KPIs (PPM/APQP/PPAP) to facilitate and develop the supply base’s ability to consistently meet or exceed defined expectations
- Provide leadership during investigations of major problems and or special projects focusing on developing working relationships with suppliers and the supply chain with regard to product development and procurement of parts
- Provide technical expertise and leadership to sourcing and development of suppliers with respect to technology, performance, quality, cost, logistics and delivery
- Drive cost effective improvements, minimize waste
- Assess (Supplier Quality System Audits) new and existing supplier capabilities to meet product, cost, quality, capacity, performance and fulfillment for delivery of components
- Support and participate in EHS objectives
- Other duties may be assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERINCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related fields such as Business, Commerce, Engineering required.
- 5 years related experience purchasing in an auto-manufacturing or manufacturing industry preferred (but not required).
- Bilingual English/Korean preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in APQP development procedures preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills & attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and perform in a deadline driven environment.

Primarily office work environment with some exposure to plant floor.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs.

Periodic domestic and international travel may be required by car or plane.
