PURPOSE: The Service Advisor is responsible for coordinating service work in the service department; for managing the service work performed; for communicating with all concerned during the service work; and for selling additional needed service to customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Greet customers in a timely, friendly manner; let customers who are waiting know that they will be helped soon.
- Schedule and manage appointments using dealership scheduling tools
- Communicate with service customers to understand their mechanical issue and effectively communicate claim to Technician through the Repair Order
- Obtain and handle detailed customer & vehicle data
- Understand manufacturers’ warranty information to determine eligibility and execute warranty claim process
- Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications, using maintenance menus.
- Dispatch and distribute work to team of technicians
- Communicate with the customer if additional work is recommended by the Technician, explain the details to the customer, including the cost and time considerations.
- Follow up progress of each repair order during the day. Contact customer regarding changes in the estimate or time promised.
- Handle telephone inquiries regarding work in process & appointments and return phone messages promptly.
- Deliver vehicles to customers upon completion of repairs and answer any questions.
- Keep Service Manager informed of all problems & potential problems involving repairs, customers & equipment.
- Follow up with customers after repairs to ensure satisfaction
- Refer leads & prospects for vehicle sales to the new and used vehicle department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- H.S. diploma or the equivalent.
- Ability to read & comprehend instructions & information.
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to utilize technology
- General knowledge of mechanical operations.
- Sales experience preferred.
- Professional personal appearance.
- Excellent oral & written communication skills.
