Nursing Faculty

The Hanover College Nursing Program seeks a dedicated, full-time continuing Nurse Educator to begin Fall 2025. This position involves serving as Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and teaching undergraduate nursing courses, developing curricula, providing mentorship, and engaging in scholarly activities. The successful candidate will contribute to a positive learning environment, help prepare students for clinical practice, and uphold the standards of nursing education. This position requires a balance of classroom instruction, clinical supervision, and academic advising. Faculty will also collaborate with academic colleagues to ensure program success and meet accreditation requirements. Primary Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate nursing courses in areas such as Nursing Leadership and Management, Nursing Informatics, Healthcare Policy, Interprofessional Communication in the Healthcare Setting, and Community Health Nursing.
• Supervise clinical practice and evaluate student performance in clinical settings.
• Develop and implement innovative, evidence-based curricula and instructional materials.
• Serve as an academic advisor and mentor for nursing students.
• Participate in scholarly activities such as research, publishing, or conference presentations.
• Engage in inclusive service activities for the department, school, or community.
• Maintain clinical expertise and remain current with developments in nursing education and practice through professional development.
• Contribute to the program's accreditation processes and curriculum reviews.
• Collaborate with other faculty and staff to enhance the student learning experience.

Qualifications

Required:

• A Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) is required; a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or Ph.D. in Nursing or a related field is preferred.
• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Indiana or a compact license.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Prior experience in nursing education, including classroom instruction and clinical supervision, preferably in a BSN or similar program.
• Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum development and program evaluation.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Commitment to student success and a passion for teaching and mentorship.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse faculty, staff, and students.

Preferred:

• Doctoral degree (DNP, Ph.D.) or evidence of progress toward completion.
• Experience with accreditation processes and standards (CCNE, ACEN).
• Experience using technology in teaching, such as learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard).

About the Hanover College Nursing Program

Hanover College and Ivy Tech Community College have collaborated to develop a unique initiative, the first of its kind in Indiana. Through the Hanover College and Ivy Tech Community College 1 2 1 partnership, nursing students have a distinct advantage with the ability to take their licensure exam after their junior year. This innovative approach allows students to become registered nurses (RNs) while they continue to pursue their Bachelor of Science with a Major in Nursing (BSN) during their senior year. The program has seen strong enrollment and represents a significant advancement in nursing education within the state.

By passing the licensure exam early, students can gain invaluable hands-on experience working as RNs, applying their knowledge in real-world healthcare settings even before they graduate. This dual-track system not only enhances their practical skills but also gives them a competitive edge in the job market upon completing their degree.
