JOB SUMMARY:
Hanover Bank is looking for a full-time Assistant Branch Manager. The Assistant Branch Manager assesses and attends to clients by providing them with products and solutions for their banking needs. The Assistant Branch Manager ensures that the Bank's goals and objectives are met, and that the Bank's policies, procedures, practices, and controls have been implemented and are being adhered to protect the Bank against monetary loss. In conjunction with the Retail Management and other LOB Sales Officers, they will be responsible for the development and execution of strategies to ensure corporate business development objectives and branch goals are met. Manage all branch functions and activities to promote branch growth. Manage and motivate staff to achieve revenue, sales, service, and operational goals. Provide direction in the maintenance of the operational integrity of the branch. Provide coaching and mentoring in the development of subordinates. Oversee all other Branch Banking Office functions including Facilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises the day-to-day operational functions of the branch.
- Provides supervision, coaching, and mentoring to branch staff.
- Provides direction in the maintenance of the operational integrity of the branch.
- Ensures all client transactions are handled accurately and timely.
- Maintains a balancing record that is in line with policy and resolves errors as necessary.
- Assists customers in processing routine and non-routine transactions.
- Conducts performance appraisals, counsels staff and performs necessary disciplinary actions.
- Opens new accounts for business customers, municipal customers, and consumers.
- Ensures by business and/or consumer type applicable documentation is obtained, and accounts are opened accurately and timely and in accordance with the bank's policy and procedures.
- Proactively promotes and sells Bank products and services.
- Administers new products and programs, including sales promotion and incentive programs.
- Assists in the overall attainment of branch sales, service, and revenue goals.
- Cross-sells additional products and services to develop and strengthen customer relationships.
- Attains personal contact and appointment goals.
- Oversees compliance functions including audits, reporting and controls, and records management.
- Conducts branch/departmental staff meetings to discuss bank/branch objectives, establishes priorities and ensures compliance with established policy and procedures.
- Collaborates with the BSA/Compliance Officer on all aspects of Compliance, BSA, and AML monitoring -Ensures all security procedures are strictly followed.
- Informs the Branch Manager of cash handling problems or differences in a timely manner.
- Assist staff members with customer escalations.
- Ensures that adequate security is provided and maintained for the branch employees, customers, cash, negotiable instruments, and equipment.
- Research customer questions regarding electronic funds transfers, initiates "Reg E" disputes when appropriate, and provides all necessary documents and affidavits.
- Researches and resolves customer problems, acting as the customer liaison between customers and other Bank departments when necessary.
- Assists customers with routine account-related requests such as wire transfers, stop payments, and ATM/Debit Card issues
- Processes customer overdrafts at the direction of the Branch Manager
- Performs daily teller transactions, including deposits/withdrawals and check cashing in accordance with authority limits/guidelines.
- Builds long-term relationships with our customers to understand their needs and recommends bank products and service solutions to accommodate their needs Ensure customer service standards are being met within the branch at all times.
- Strive to attain the highest levels of client satisfaction.
- Assists with the daily opening and closing of the branch and the branch vault.
- Performs other job-related duties or special projects as assigned by management.
- Performs all operational duties as needed, during peak periods or to maintain coverage.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
- Knowledge of opening business accounts is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of business-related banking services to aid in identifying cross-sell opportunities
- Builds relationships and operates as a trusted partner; knows how to navigate the organization and leverage internal teammates.
- Experience with Cash Management products and services preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Bank policies, procedures, and products.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements.

Salary: $60,000 - $72,000; placement within this range will vary based on experience and skill level.
