JOB SUMMARY:
Hanover Bank is looking for a Full-Time Deposit Operations Officer. The Deposit Operations Officer will support the Director of Deposit and Retail Operations in managing the day-to-day deposit operations of the bank, as well as assisting with special projects. The role’s primary responsibility will be to perform a wide range of deposit operational duties including the origination and management of retail and business deposit products.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure day-to-day activities are effectively managed, including implementing and adhering to policies, procedures, and operational controls.
- Develop and/or improve existing ACH and Wire Processing, Cash In Transit activity, Deposit Profitability Analysis Products, among other products, to promote innovative delivery to consumer and commercial customers.
- Monitor and reconce deposit accounts to identify and resolve any discrepancies or unusual activity.
- Work with the Director to implement strategies to improve operational workflows, policies, and service-level agreements.
- Assist with transaction monitoring, reconciliation, and oversight to ensure transactions are processed securely while meeting business needs. This may include reviewing limit increases or fraudulent transaction escalations.
- Responsible for updating policy, procedures, training documentation, and facilitation to deposit and retail operations staff.
- Ensure adequate controls are in place to manage the risk associated with all services provided by the bank.
- Work with the Director to handle operational audits and vendor management
- Assist management with ongoing application and process risk assessments for deposit accounts and services the bank offers.
- Monitor operational metrics and report on trends, performance, and issues to Management.
- Mentor, guide, and develop team members to foster a high-performing, adaptable workforce.
- Serve as an escalation point for all complaints from our clients that need management attention.
- Assist the Manager with HR related items, such as time off requests, timecard approvals, and performance action plans for Deposit & Retail Operations staff.
- May act as an intermediary for internal risk issues when needed.
- Conduct weekly/biweekly meetings with the subordinate team and report any operational deficiencies, as well as report issues that may present additional risk to the bank.
- Assist with special projects and tasks as directed.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required.
- Preferred accredited ACH Professional (AAP) Certification.
- 5 years relevant work experience within the retail, e-commerce, and/or payments industry.
- Ability to think through practices, problem solve, and share helpful information.
- Attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with reliability, quickly, and accurately.
- Strong bank regulatory knowledge, including Reg E and Reg CC.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Salary: $125,000-$150,000.00; placement within this range will vary based on experience and skill level.
