What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Manager - Prepared Foods Dept. - Lebanon Store - Full Time position at Hanover Consumer Cooperateive Society Inc?
Responsible for maintaining department inventory, including re-ordering, and stocking of department items. Ensures high level of food quality and service. Works in partnership with the Store Manager and the Lebanon Food Service Operations Manager.
Quality Standards:
- Budget: Works with Lebanon Food Service Operations Manager to stay within planned budget and maintaining price levels to meet budget.
- Inventory: maintain acceptable inventory levels.
- Compliance: maintains compliance with laws and regulations.
- Personnel: Works with Operations Manager and Supervisors on annual performance reviews. Response in two days to staff concerns to discuss progress on concerns. Ensures adherence to Co-op policies.
- Dept Performance: Achieves operational goals for Prepared Foods Departments in conjunction with the Food Service Operations Manager.
- Customer Service: provides customer service in accordance with Co-op standards, and responds to member and customer needs.
- Orchestrates the daily functions of the Food Service Departments.
- Responsible for Food Service inventory, ordering and vendor relations.
- Responsible for stocking and merchandising all department areas.
- Works with Food Service Operations Manager to ensure proper signage and clean, attractive displays and cases.
- Conducts or oversees regular meetings and huddles with all Food Service Departments in conjunction with the Food Service Operations Manager.
- Works with the Food Service Operations Manager on implementing merchandising strategies including menus, weekly specials, demos, sampling events, and special promotions
Qualifications:
- Education -High School plus culinary degree or college degree in food service or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience (at least 3 years) and knowledge of commercial food preparation, such as catering, caf/restaurant operations. Special skills: advanced culinary skills, computer skills to include food service programs.
- Supervisory skills: at least 3 years of experience and/or completion of in-house supervisory training.
- Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. comfortably on a regular basis.
