Teacher - Math - 2025-2026 School Year - The Georgetown School

Job Summary: As an Instructional Teacher at The Georgetown School, you will play a crucial role in helping students develop essential skills and knowledge. Your primary responsibility will be to plan, deliver, and evaluate instruction based on specific goals and objectives established by Hanover County Public Schools and Virginia Standards of Learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate mastery of the content area and prepare daily instruction using the division's curriculum.
• Assess students' learning on an ongoing basis and adapt instruction to meet individual needs.
• Develop summative tests and use results for further student instruction, grading, and placement.
• Maintain a favorable learning environment and encourage high standards of classroom behavior.
• Select and utilize materials and resources suitable for students' instructional levels.
• Organize learning activities to achieve specific concepts.
• Participate in district and school-level training programs, faculty meetings, and establish friendly relationships between home and school.
• Respect parental responsibilities and take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and district policy.

Qualifications:
KSA's, Education:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Comprehensive knowledge of current teaching practices, techniques, and methods; effective means of supervision and instruction; principles of educational testing and remedial education; working with students with disabilities; and educational research.

Education and Experience:
Required: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and Virginia Teacher License with endorsement in applicable subject area. Preferred: Master's Degree from an accredited institution.

Location: Assigned School
Work Schedule: 10M (217 days) - 7.25 hrs.
