Position Overview
Hanover Golf Club is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Golf Professional to lead and manage all aspects of the golf operations. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring an exceptional golfing experience for all members and guests, enhancing the Club's reputation, and overseeing the daily operations of the golf course, teaching programs, tournaments, and staff.
The Head Golf Professional will work closely with the club’s management team, committee members, and staff to create an outstanding environment for golfers of all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Golf Operations Leadership
- Oversee and manage all golf operations, ensuring that the course, practice facilities, and amenities are maintained to the highest standards.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve member satisfaction and increase golf participation.
- Coordinate golf course maintenance with the grounds crew to ensure optimal playing conditions.
Instruction and Player Development
- Provide individual and group golf lessons for all skill levels, with an emphasis on player development.
- Design and oversee instructional programs, clinics, and golf camps for juniors, women, and seniors.
- Mentor and train assistant golf professionals and staff.
Tournament & Event Management
- Organize and oversee golf tournaments, events, and leagues, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently.
- Develop annual golf event schedules and ensure proper communication with members.
- Work with the marketing manager to promote tournaments and events to enhance participation.
Membership Engagement
- Foster positive relationships with members, providing excellent customer service and engaging with members to ensure their golfing needs are met.
- Assist in the recruitment and retention of golf members.
- Develop programs and events that enhance member satisfaction and club engagement.
Pro Shop Management
- Oversee the operation of the golf pro shop, including managing inventory, purchasing equipment, and ensuring proper merchandising.
- Provide recommendations for golf equipment, apparel, and accessories to enhance the member experience.
- Supervise and schedule pro shop staff, ensuring high levels of customer service.
Financial Management
- Analyze revenue and expenses for golf-related operations and recommend strategies for growth.
- Develop and implement pricing strategies for lessons, tournaments, and pro shop items.
Collaboration and Communication
- Communicate effectively with the club's managers, golf course superintendent, and other staff to ensure seamless operation of the golf program.
- Work with marketing and communications team to promote golf activities and ensure member engagement.
- Attend and participate in club meetings, committees, and events as needed.

Qualifications & Skills
- A PGA Member or Class A PGA Professional with a minimum of 3 years of experience in golf operations, including teaching and management.

- Experience with golf tournament management, event planning, and member engagement.
- Knowledge of golf course operations and club management.
- Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and P&L management.
- Ability to foster strong relationships with club members, staff, and guests.
- Professional demeanor and appearance with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
- Experience with Golf Genius and EZ Tee preferred for tournament management and tee time reservations.
