What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Public Management Intern position at Hanover Township?
Hanover Township Administrative Services is currently accepting applications for a part-time Summer Public Management Intern to assist the Department in the day-to-day operations of the Township by providing administrative support on assigned tasks with minimal supervision. Typical assignments/projects will involve participating in the organization’s three-year strategic plan, researching best practices and innovative programs, and participating in a variety of special projects. Provides direct assistance for aspects of Township grant development efforts. Performs other duties as assigned.
- The non-exempt position has a pay rate of $17.00 per hour.
- Approximately 24 hours per week with the ability to create a flexible schedule based on class schedule.

Essential Job Functions:
- Provide administrative support to staff and senior management, especially in the Department of Administrative Services, on various administrative tasks, special projects, programs and/or services.
- Assist the Assistant to the Administrator in the preparation of the annual budget documentation for submission to the Popular Annual Financial Report awards program and community distribution.
- Represent and assist in planning community and Township events. Attend and participate in various organizational meetings, including Township Board meetings and committee meetings as assigned.
- Research potential grants for all Township departments to further the established mission and goals of organization through federal, state, and local units of government and non-profit organizations or private organizations.
- Serve as a backup to the front desk receptionist as necessary.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Capacity to identify and manage multiple projects, programs, and services in an efficient and effective manner with minimal supervision.
- Ability to read and interpret all types of documents including safety rules and regulations, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to create and edit reports and correspondence from varied source material using appropriate style and format.
- Ability to maintain effective professional relationships with elected officials, staff, residents, and vendors.
Education, Experience, and Computer Skills:
- Must have a high school diploma and currently enrolled in a four year university.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
