What you'll do
- Brand Ambassador: Be a professional representative of HFCU and WealthTrek in our communities, new centers, social media platforms, and engage with networking opportunities in Chambers, Veteran organizations, BNI, Rotary clubs, and more. Having an entrepreneurship mindset to bring awareness in the communities around our innovative approach to financial wellness and health.
- Strategic initiative targets: Support and maintain a growing book of business with members in achieving and obtaining SMART goals, which includes building out relationship growth with HFCU’s products and services for all members as part of your business portfolio that aligns with HFCU’s strategy and goals.
- Internal networking: Establish a healthy working partnership with key business lines to leverage building out member relationship portfolios. Build competencies in areas of other business lines that will best enable us to identify opportunities for cross-differential referrals to strengthen member relationships.
- Agility: Have a keen understanding of the ability to change within the companies’ initiatives as business plans adjust and change as needed. Be a part of leading change for positive outcomes within HFCU’s strategies.
- Member Education: Provide personalized financial education to members, helping them develop a deep understanding of personal finance, budgeting, debt management, and saving strategies. Schedule and conduct individual consultations with members to review their financial situations, provide advice, and track progress.
- Financial Planning: Assist members in setting and achieving financial goals by creating comprehensive financial plans tailored to their individual circumstances and aspirations. Support, guide, empower and coach towards the six financial pillars of savings, credit, cash flow, debt management, insurance (protection), and retirement.
- Workshops and Seminars: Conduct financial wellness workshops, webinars, and seminars for members, both in-branch, online, and offsite covering a range of financial topics.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of member interactions, progress, and outcomes. Provide regular reports to management on the impact of the financial wellness program.
- Branch Operations: Ensure personal operations (assigned cash drawer, assigned member document processing, etc.) are conducted in alignment with operational compliance standards, as well as understand all in-branch service functions including account opening, loan application processing and transaction processing.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required:
- Strong desire to work in a purpose driven organization.
- 3 to 5 years of experience.
- Strong understanding of personal finance, credit, and debt management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in conducting financial workshops and one-on-one coaching.
- Successfully complete the Certified Personal Finance Counselor (CPFC) certificate within 90 days of hire.
- Energetic, positive, enthusiastic, passionate, forward thinking, team player, coachable, aspirational and empathetic.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Education/Certifications/Licenses:
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (Behavioral finance, social work, credit counseling, etc.)
- Financial coaching or counseling certification preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
MENTAL AND/OR EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
