Who you are – Senior Consumer Loan Processor

What you'll do
- Responsible for the accurate and timely funding of all indirect loans, including but not limited to gathering and reviewing all necessary documentation, delaying funding as necessary, and contacting internal and external stakeholders to move loans to funding.
- Handle escalated and complex calls, including but not limited to difficult dealers, funding issues, and calls escalated from members and staff. Is the point of contact for underwriters, applicants and MEC to facilitate smooth communication and resolve issues in a timely manner. Provides prompt, efficient, and professional service to all members with transactions, loan maintenance, loan questions and payoff requests by answering the loan department extension.
- Processes monthly dealer reserve chargeback report and invoices; records dealer payments of chargebacks on spreadsheet and tracks payment of unpaid invoices.
- Coach and mentor new hires to the Consumer Lending Processing Team and ensure that existing staff are trained and following updates to HFCU’s policies, procedures, and systems.
- Responsible for gathering loan documentation for examinations and audits of HFCU’s lending programs; assists with investigating concerns presented by examiners and auditors.
- Participates in projects as requested. Processes changes and system upgrades. Works with vendors and internal staff to learn, understand and test new items as necessary. Identify lending platform inefficiencies and provide recommendations for solutions.
- Verifies and adheres to all lending regulations whether they are federal, state, or HFCU policies. Identify and escalate any irregularities or possible fraud to supervisors for review
- Responsible for reviewing Indirect vehicle loan title documentation to help ensure that HFCU’s lien is in place so that a title may be obtained and held by HFCU. Assisting with Titles for direct loan Title Perfection
- Creating, updating and maintaining Processes and Procedures for Organization’s use
- Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required:
- 1-3 years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
Education/Certifications/Licenses
- A high school degree or equivalent
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
MENTAL AND/OR EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
