Deli/Bakery Specialist

Hansen’s IGA is seeking a Deli/Bakery Specialist to join our highly motivated corporate team. This is a first shift opportunity that would require almost daily travel to different stores located mostly in Western Wisconsin.

Position Purpose:

The Deli/Bakery Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the Deli/Bakery department operations in all Hansen’s IGA locations including their financial results. They must plan, organize, direct, and control all Deli/Bakery activities and operations plus make effective and objective decisions regarding operational choices in work procedures, inventory allocations, ordering, and scheduling. The position is responsible for coordinating all product offerings, recipes and retail pricing on all Deli/Bakery products offered in our locations. A qualified applicant will need to be able to effectively communicate with Deli/Bakery managers, Store Managers and report results to management.

Qualifications/Skills:

·        Must be 18 years or older

·        Clean driving record is required

·        Must be able to lift 40 pounds regularly, 80 pounds occasionally

·        2-3 years of experience working in a deli/bakery department is preferred

·        Previous leadership/training experience is preferred

·        Proven attendance record/job longevity

·        Honest, team-oriented person who has a solid work ethic and is reliable

Specific Duties and Responsibilities: 

·        Travel on a daily basis to 12 different stores (company car is available)

·        Train and provide guidance to Deli/Bakery Managers

·        Provide support wherever needed in Deli/Bakery Departments

·        Merchandising

·        Evaluate product placement

·        Monitor pre-booking and ordering

·        Project work (for example, doing re-sets)

·        Provide friendly, courteous, positive and enthusiastic interactions with customers

·        Deal with vendors and salespersons regarding department products

·        Face and rotate existing product if needed

·        Ensure shelves are fully stocked

·        May perform other duties such as cashiering, stocking or bagging when needed

·        Other duties as they are assigned
