Hanson International is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Plant Manager position.
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production, safety, maintenance, employee management, strategic planning, cost control, customer and vendor relations, and continuous improvement, while ensuring compliance with company values, policies, and standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership and Team Management
- Ensure the on-time delivery of products by effectively managing production schedules, and addressing any potential bottlenecks or disruptions in the manufacturing process. Maintain close oversight of operational workflows to meet customer expectations and achieve key performance metrics related to delivery timelines.
- Provide direction and professional development for supervisors and plant personnel.
- Lead and train teams to align with organizational goals and objectives.
- Work with Human Resources and other managers to hire and onboard new plant employees.
- Enforce company policies and take disciplinary actions, including termination, as necessary.
- Oversee all training initiatives, including managing 12-16 apprentices.
Production and Operations Management
- Collaborate with departmental managers to achieve manufacturing objectives efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Establish and monitor production and quality standards to drive performance.
- Direct shipping operations for all projects.
- Manage external vendors, including welders, machine shops, mold polishers, and truckers.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Review Process
- Develop, implement, and oversee KPIs to measure performance in production, safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Conduct regular reviews of KPI data to identify trends, drive improvements, and ensure alignment with company goals.
- Lead bi-annual performance reviews for all hourly employees, providing feedback and setting performance objectives.
Maintenance and Equipment Oversight
- Ensure the maintenance and optimal performance of capital assets and equipment.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime and ensure safety compliance.
Continuous Improvement and Cost Control
- Drive the Continuous Improvement Process to enhance efficiency, quality, and workplace culture.
- Implement and monitor cost-control measures across capital expenditures, operations, and workforce management.
- Foster a culture of shop floor organization and cleanliness among plant personnel.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards for a 60-person manufacturing facility.
EXPERIENCE:
- 10 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in managing a team of 50 employees in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and quality control standards.
- Experience in die cast die manufacturing (preferred).
- Experience in establishing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track operational success.
- Proficient in the use of computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and manufacturing software systems (ERP).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
