General Job Description
The EHS Specialist will support the Environmental, Health, and Safety department and maintain a safe and compliant facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the development, review, and implementation of EHS programs.
- Maintains EHS record-keeping systems.
- Responds to environmental incidents and assist with all abatement efforts through completion.
- Provides resources and information to production.
- Assists in the investigation of all EHS incidents.
- Participates in the Safety Committee.
- Assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS training programs.
- Review all written programs to ensure they are updated when personnel or physical changes affect those programs. All employees are trained for these changes, and annual training is given to affected employees.
- Prepares government-mandated reports and ensures they are submitted in a timely manner.
- Assist with hazardous waste activities, including storage containers, weekly hazardous waste container inspections, disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with all local, State, and Federal rules and regulations, hazardous waste handling, training, and record retention.
- Maintain constant awareness of changing regulations, ensuring the company’s Environmental, Health, and Safety policies are aligned with current laws and industry standards.

Work Environment
This job operates primarily in a professional office environment. Participation in events (trials, DOE, etc.) on the production floor is required. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Manager/Supervisor Safety Job Description
- Follow all environmental, health, and safety rules of Hanwha Advanced Materials Georgia and work in a manner that is conducive to maintaining a safe and healthful workplace for all employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Report all accidents or spills immediately.
- Attend all safety-related training sessions as required.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. on a frequent basis and up to 50 lbs. on an infrequent basis.
- Cooperate with all local, State, and Federal agencies, such as OSHA, EPA, in the event of an inspection.
- Always use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to set good workplace standards and ensure all employees maintain those standards.
- Ability to work with and around chemicals, dust, and other substances.
- Do not operate any equipment, or machinery, or perform any job task unless you have completed documented training.
- Do not modify or bypass any safety-related system on equipment or machinery.
- Complete all pre-operational safety checklists prior to operating any equipment or machinery.
- Good vision at a close distance is required.
- Must be capable of performing repetitive motion at or below shoulder height for up to 12 hours.
- Respond immediately in a positive and proactive manner to any Hanwha Advanced Materials Georgia employee’s Health and Safety concern or suggestion.
- Ensure all employees under your guidance have received all required training to safely perform their job.
- Ensure that all accidents are properly reported, and accident investigations are completed within 48 hours.
- Understand employee’s rights under the OSH ACT, EEOC, FLSA and do not allow for discrimination against any employee exercising their rights.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position.
Monday-Friday, core work hours 1st shift
Flexible hours to be available.
Must be available to work weekends when requested by the Manager.
Required Education and Experience
- 5 years’ experience relevant to manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred.
- A relevant manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred.
- Extensive plant-level experience with significant proven man-management experience.
- Technical capability and understanding.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent leadership and maintenance management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
- Competent in problem-solving, team building, planning, and decision-making.
- Commercially aware.
Preferred/Desired:
- Need to be able to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuously improving environment.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- The ability to work with components that are in constant motion along a production line without adverse effects.
