We are seeking a Market Development Manager who will play a key role in the future direction of the organization and development of strategies. These strategies will support 1) continued profitable growth, 2) diversification outside of the current concentration in the automotive segment and, 3) expansion of core competencies. The ideal candidate will have an established network with OEM’s and Tier 1 vendors in the automotive industry and have a strong understanding of automotive interior materials.
Core Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough market research to identify market trends in the automotive interior materials sector.
- Leverage existing network and actively develop relationships with OEM’s and Tier 1 vendors.
- Analyze competitor strategies, products, pricing, and positioning to identify competitive advantages and opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and internal stakeholders regarding market insights, product capabilities, and competitive positioning.
- Understand the cost structure of materials and be able to customize quotations for the purpose of introducing new materials to the market.
Qualifications or Requirements:
- Proven experience (5 years) in market development, business development, or sales within the automotive industry, specifically focusing on automotive interior materials.
- Strong understanding of automotive interior materials, including knowledge of materials types, manufacturing processes, and industry trends.
- Established network with OEM accounts and Tier 1 vendors in the automotive industry.
- Understanding of cost structure of materials
- Experience in writing quotations
- Ability to talk and understand with customers about product requirements and structure and internally organize roles and responsibilities with related teams.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as necessary, up to 25%
Education:
- Minimum 4 year college degree (Engineering degree preferred)
