The Program Manager‘s main function is to support strategic projects for the organization. The PM will work directly with general managers, production and facilities lead, engineers, technical leads, human resources, outside vendors, and suppliers depending on the project scope from inception through execution. The PM is responsible for ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule and budget, including planning and execution of cost savings initiatives. With limited supervision or direction, the Program Manager may plan and execute multiple strategic projects for aerospace
Location: Based out of Cheshire, CT

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Plan, develop, implement and coordinate project or program
Design, establish, prioritize and maintain key resource and organizational structure to accomplish the program/project effectively
Direct and oversee an interdepartmental team of individuals, internal and external, to meet quality, performance and schedule requirements within finite budget constraints
Direct, manage and monitor the daily administrative components of assigned programs or projects including set-up and facilitation of regular program review meetings (internal and external)
Develop and manage program budgets for each program and perform regular cost and productivity analysis in cooperation with other functional groups and manufacturing
Tactfully assign accountability and recognize accomplishments on behalf of the leadership
Identify and prioritize needed actions to alleviate barriers of various natures (technical, administrative, resource requirements)
Focus on continuous process improvement and implementation for program systems in relation to improved program management and customer satisfaction
Performs other related duties or responsibilities as requested or required, whether or not specifically mentioned in this job description.
Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.
Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level.
Various other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Participate in training as required
5-10% Domestic Travel required
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lbs.
Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about our facility
Requirements:
BS Engineering or another relevant discipline, Master’s degree preferred. Project or Program Management certification desired but not required
Experience: 5-7 years of engineering, project, or program management experience (experience in multiple areas a plus).
Knowledge/Competencies: Action-oriented, business acumen, drive for results, building effective teams, getting work done through others
Knowledge of cost control, schedule control, negotiating pricing, contractual terms, and conditions
Strong program/project management skills, certification a plus
Strong written and communication toolset that allows for simplifying complex issues and interactions
Strong bias for speed, intelligent risk-taker, and fast learner
Ability to team effectively with the site and functional leaders
Strong team facilitation and leadership skills to drive the execution of effective decision-making and implementation of action plans
