Shipper Receiver 1 – Non-Exempt

Responsible for the packing and shipping, as well as receiving of all materials to and from the Cheshire facility. Looking for someone that is hardworking, reliable, and willing to work in a fast-paced environment. Will train the right candidate, in all aspects of receiving, packaging, and shipping processes.

Reports to: Logistics Manager
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Use a computer to identify customers' shipping & Packaging requirements and to use the work instructions (in the network under ISO work instructions and on specific P.O.s) determines the method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
- Compares identifying information and counts weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Determines the method of shipment.
- Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on packages.
- Stamps, stencils, or glues are identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
- Posts weights and shipping charges and affixes postage.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Routes items to departments.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Maintains the inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Operates lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.

- Participate in training as required
- 5-10% Domestic Travel required
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 35 lbs.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about our facility
Requirements:
- Must be a “US Person” as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1 years experience in shipping and receiving preferred
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office and ERP
- Forklift certification preferred
- Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level.
