Hanwha Ocean is embarking on a journey to transition from a traditional shipbuilder to an Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, and Operation (EPCI(O)) solution provider, offering products such as FPSO, FLNG, Offshore Renewables and other Floating Production Units.
The Offshore Business Division recently expanded its global footprint by establishing a new Global Business Centers in North America and Europe with the intention of becoming a project-centric and client-driven business organization. This transformation aims to offer enhanced project execution and knowledge-driven operational models by bridging the upstream culture of three continents across Asia, Europe, and America.
Summary
The Network and Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining the company's network infrastructure to Hanwha Ocean Offshore Global Project Center. This includes managing Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco Meraki switches, and wireless access points, ensuring optimal connectivity across offices.
Accountabilities
- Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-level Cisco Meraki network infrastructure, including switches and access points across multiple sites.
- Configure and optimize Meraki SD-WAN for remote site connectivity and cloud-based network management.
- Troubleshoot network performance issues and implement QoS policies for optimized bandwidth usage.
- Ensure high availability and redundancy across LAN/WAN, including failover mechanisms.
- To manage Telecom Services provider incidents and maintenance.
- Configure, maintain, and monitor Palo Alto firewalls, including Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) features such as Threat Prevention, URL Filtering, WildFire, and GlobalProtect VPN.
- Implement Zero Trust Security principles and enforce role-based access control (RBAC) across network resources.
- Manage intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), SIEM, and endpoint protection.
- Conduct security risk assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate threats.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (NIST, IEC 62443, ISO 27001, OG86) and regulatory frameworks.
- Implement and manage cloud-based network security solutions in hybrid environments (Azure, AWS).
- Configure and manage VPNs (Palo Alto GlobalProtect, Meraki Client VPN) for secure remote access to offshore teams.
- Deploy multi-factor authentication (MFA) and identity-based access controls.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Palo Alto Networks: PCNSA, PCNSE
- Cisco: CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, Cisco Meraki CMNA
- Security: CISSP, CISM, CEH (added advantage)
- Experience:
- 5 years in network and security engineering roles, preferably in Oil & Gas, EPCI, or industrial environments.
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco Meraki switches & APs, and cloud networking.
- Experience with WAN link management and Telecommunications Service providers relationship to challenge Service Level Agreement.
Key Skills & Competencies:
✅ Expertise in Cisco Meraki switches and Palo Alto firewalls
✅ Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, QoS, SD-WAN
✅ Hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint security
✅ Familiarity with cloud networking (Azure, AWS, hybrid environments)
✅ Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in network security incidents
