ASSOCIATE BUYER

FLEXRACK by Qcells is an integrated solar company that offers custom-designed, fixed tilt ground mount and single-axis solar tracking systems in the commercial and utility-scale solar mounting industries. FLEXRACK by Qcells also offers full services, including engineering, geotechnical, pullout testing, field, and layout design services to address the actual site conditions of a project site. FLEXRACK by Qcells has completed over 3.5 GW of solar racking installations in over 40 U.S. states, 9 Canadian provinces and across the globe.

SUMMARY

The Associate Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of materials as well as expediting. This role will ensure a reliable supply chain, optimize costs, and maintain supplier relationships while adhering to quality and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to meet project demands efficiently. This position reports to the Senior Purchasing Manager, or another management personnel that the CEO of the Company may designate. This position is located in North Jackson, OH and working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm local time. This position is expected to travel up to 10%.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure assigned purchase orders are processed with proper terms & conditions and within university policy & procedures
• Responsible for the procurement of supplies and/or equipment for all departments
• Conduct and/or participate in weekly/bi-weekly supplier production, shipping and quality meetings.
• Works in conjunction with Transportation & Logistics team to expedite domestic and international shipments.
• Maintain effective liaison with all departments to present alternatives offered by suppliers, modification of design, standardization of parts or material, or other matters of mutual concern.
• Work from/with engineering requests for components for new programs
• Obtain quotes, source items with vendors, follow and expedite delivery
• Creates, maintains updated product/vendor information
• Assists departments in defining purchasing needs and resolving any associated problems
• Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position.
• Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned by Management

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 
  Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of experience OR minimum 3-5 years purchasing experience within an import/distribution environment
• Import/distribution experience within an MRP environment.
• Experience with offshore vendors and customs related issues
• At least 1-2 years buying experience in a manufacturing assembly environment. Steel manufacturing environment preferred.
