SUMMARY
The primary role of the SCADA Operations Manager is to manage and coordinate project activities from SCADA engineering designs, development, to commissioning of Substation, PV, and BESS facilities. This role is responsible for managing complete SCADA delivery while ensuring compliance with technical specifications and standards across all sites. This includes managing external SCADA providers, consultants and contractors, and managing project meeting and reporting functions. The SCADA Operations Manager reports to the Director of Commissioning and shall have experience in plant controls, HMI development, and networking with strong project management skills, ensuring project and organizational success within the Qcells organization.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as subject matter expert (SME) for all SCADA and associated communications.
- Technical lead with configurations review, testing, and commissioning of SCADA system.
- Provide technical guidance and review of SCADA deliverables.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external cross functional organizations to mitigate schedule and cost risks.
- Directs and coordinates the SCADA commissioning process with the commissioning Director and Managers from concept design through functional testing for all sites.
- Manage SCADA punch list items to reach project milestones.
- Track project performance metrics, including schedule adherence and budget management.
- Lead post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate, modify, and enhance SCADA solutions (where applicable).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to support project and organizational objectives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or 5 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to develop schedules that integrate dependent and independent activities, including start-end time dependencies and time/cost estimates for activities.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of SCADA and networking systems.
- Must have strong communications skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate with third parties as necessary.
