JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Summary:We are seeking an experienced and proactive Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal advice and guidance across all aspects of the organization. The Legal Counsel will ensure compliance with laws and regulations, mitigate risks, and support the company’s business goals. This role involves drafting and reviewing legal documents, managing contracts, and providing counsel on a wide range of legal issues, including corporate governance, employment law, and regulatory compliance.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide expert legal advice and guidance to the executive team and business units on legal rights, obligations, and risks.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to protect the company’s interests.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards.
- Manage litigation and disputes, working with external counsel as necessary.
- Support business transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and partnerships.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks, ensuring the organization’s actions comply with relevant laws.
- Monitor changes in legislation and advise on their impact on the organization.
- Develop and maintain internal policies, procedures, and training programs to promote legal and regulatory compliance.
- Represent the company in negotiations, hearings, and legal proceedings as required.
QUALIFICATIONSBasic Qualifications and Skills:- Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent legal qualification.
- Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction(s).
- 5 years of experience in corporate or commercial law, preferably in an in-house or law firm setting.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate law, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a high level of attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:- Experience working in a multinational or fast-growing organization.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations.
- Expertise in intellectual property law, data privacy, or employment law.
- Proven track record in managing complex transactions and cross-border legal matters.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
