The Human Resources Generalist develops and executes human resources practices to support and improve the daily operations of the supported business units. Works in partnership with HR functional teams to provide a high level of service to the units served. Works in partnership with HR functional groups to deliver strategic business goals and HR strategic initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer HR activities including, employee and labor relations, benefits, compliance, health & safety and training & development.
- Responsible for creating, updating and applying all HR policies and company guidelines and making sure they adhere to standards and laws initiated by authorities.
- Manage, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, safety training and anti-harassment training, continuing education, and work assessments.
- Manage, audit and submit Payroll for respective departments.
- Performs tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, culture, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, team members and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attend, participate and deliver team member disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Organize and conduct New Hire Orientation to ensure all new team members are properly introduced to Hapag-Lloyd’s vision, values and practices.
- Assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- General HR related tasks as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required plus a minimum of 5 years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing 200 FTE preferred.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP a plus.
- Problem solving and analytical
- Outgoing, empathetic and patient, but practical.
- Detail oriented.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Work independently when needed.
- Possess fundamental business acumen.
- Excellent planning and execution skills
- Ability to take the initiative in a constantly-changing work environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites.
- Knowledge of local (Georgia) and federal labor laws
