What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Service Specialist position at HAPO Community Credit Union?
HAPO is now accepting applications for a Financial Service Specialist in Sunnyside. We are seeking an individual who is ambitious, self-motivated and who strives to represent HAPO’s core commitment “Be in the Moment” and standard of service “Defy Expectations” with our members, community as well as the team they are a part of.
Ideal candidates will have proven excellence in member services, be sales goal oriented and committed to delivering superior service. They will help members with loan products and services, assist with complex loan and account structures, commercial lending, consumer lending, new account services, IRA’s CDA’s and much more. They will be a community minded team-member who can represent the HAPO brand and develop new business opportunities while building relationships with members and peers.
- Basic understanding of loans and accounts
- Discuss Loan Products & Services- Credit Life & Disability/Gap coverage/Mechanical Breakdown Protection
- Basic understanding of IRAs
- Basic understanding of Trusts, POAs and Estates
- Full understanding of debit/credit card issuance, replacement and cancelation of cards
- Full understanding of forgery/fraud procedures for checks, debit, credit cards, and ACH disputes
- Ability to hand calculate dividends on accounts
- Understands the difference between rate and APY and can communicate that to members
- Understands loan interest calculations for mortgage and consumer loans
- Discuss relevant products and services to members
- Full understanding of wires and international wires
- Full understanding of electronic service options for members
- Process all types of Stop Payments

Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have a minimum of two years Personal Banker or equivalent experience
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- Must be able to work 35-40 hours a week between the hours of 8:30am – 6:30pm M-F with Rotating Saturdays required.

Starting Pay range (DOE): $19.31 - $28.96
Typically, Selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint range, based on applicable experience and qualifications.
