Position Overview:
We’re seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Cheese Monger who is passionate about artisanal cheeses, customer service, and sharing great food. You’ll play a key role in curating our cheese selection, assisting customers with pairing recommendations, and maintaining a beautiful, clean, and organized cheese department.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist customers with product selections and provide expert recommendations on cheese pairings, storage, and preparation.
Maintain knowledge of all cheese products, including origin, flavor profiles, and seasonal availability.
Receive, store, and rotate inventory according to food safety and quality standards.
Ensure the cheese case is visually appealing and fully stocked at all times.
Slice, cut, wrap, and label cheese products to customer specifications.
Support the deli and prepared foods team as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, following sanitation and safety guidelines.
Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive in-store experience.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in cheese, deli, or specialty food retail preferred.
Passion for food, especially cheese, and a desire to learn more.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Open availability and flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
