Job Summary

Here at Happy Day Pet Grooming Salon, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and the ability to provide high-quality grooming services to pets. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of pets while providing excellent customer service to pet owners. This role requires a combination of technical grooming skills and a compassionate approach to animal care.

Responsibilities

• Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs and cats within a timely manner.
• Assess the condition of each pet's coat and skin, recommending appropriate grooming techniques and products.
• Handle animals safely and humanely, using proper restraint techniques when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pet's grooming needs and any observed health issues.
• Provide basic animal care, including monitoring the behavior of pets in the grooming area, etc.
• Assist with kennel duties as needed, including cleaning and maintaining animal housing areas.
• Stay updated on grooming trends, techniques, and best practices in pet care.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in pet grooming or related fields such as veterinary assistance or dog training is preferred.
• Strong animal handling skills with the ability to work with various breeds and temperaments.
• Knowledge of animal care practices, including basic first aid for pets.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger animals or equipment. (50 lbs )
• Familiarity with animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during grooming procedures.
• Excellent communication skills to interact positively with pet owners and team members.
• A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential.
• At least 2 years of Grooming required
• Salary negotiable based on experience and skill levels, etc.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.50 - $20.00 per hour
