What are the responsibilities and job description for the Greeter (Manhattan based dog daycare) position at Happy Dogs NYC?
Greeter (NYC based dog daycare)
We are a beloved and thriving dog daycare business in New York City with five locations (and growing) and are seeking an experienced greeter.
- A disciplined and professional organization founded, owned, and run by a husband-and-wife team – both MIT graduates, one a former global media executive (Google, Bloomberg, Financial Times), the other a former “Big Law” lawyer.
- Our core value is in our name Happy Dogs – we’re here to make dogs happy by playing together in a safe pack environment. That drives everything we do. (Including when we need to say “no” to customers for the sake of the well-being of the dogs in our care.)
- We’re growing fast – and looking for seasoned professionals to grow with us!
The role:
- Must be located in New York City and available to work at our Manhattan location - https://happydogsnyc.com/stuyvesant-town/location/
- Role will have regular pop-in visits to our Manhattan location to visit with members and be the face of the company.
- 10-30 hours per week, semi-flexible schedule Monday through Sunday with paid and unpaid time off
- Must be available in the weekday afternoons from around 4:00pm to 7:00pm Eastern time (flexible) to visit doggy daycare locations
- Must be available some weekends for special events
Responsibilities:
- Be a warm, friendly face for our members.
- Stay aware of frequent visitors, regulars, and new pups. Communicate with our onsite pack handling staff to understand how the dogs did that day.
- Spend some time in the dog run to get to know the dogs.
- Learn our standard operating procedures (hours, holidays, etc.) to answer quick member questions or “take a message” for our member support team to respond.
- Keep a greeters log throughout the day and pass on any questions, concerns, etc. to our member services team.
The ideal candidate:
- You love dogs!!! Like all of us here :-)
- You are outgoing, love talking with people, and building lasting relationships.
- You are highly detail-oriented – facts matter, details matter, getting things right matters
- You hope to learn and grow over time – and to be long term with a good company that will invest in you for the long term
- Highschool (juniors and seniors) and college students encouraged to apply.
