About the Role:
Are you passionate about poultry genetics and hands-on farm work, but also enjoy working in an office environment? As a Pedigree Breed Manager, you’ll play a vital role in managing and improving a specialty breed of layer chickens. This role combines data analysis, farm visits, and international collaboration to ensure the success of our heritage breed program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform artificial insemination and track breeding outcomes.
- Collect and analyze data on egg quality and individual hen performance.
- Identify top-performing birds to enhance the genetic potential of our heritage breed.
- Maintain accurate pedigree records to prevent inbreeding and ensure long-term viability.
- Develop and update the Heritage Breed Manual for pure line and commercial flocks.
- Monitor and analyze compliance metrics, feed data, and regulatory requirements.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Poultry Science or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience preferred, but entry-level candidates with relevant education will be considered.
- Experience in poultry or animal agriculture is a plus.
- Strong analytical and data collection skills.
- Ability to be flexible and work in both office and farm environments.
- A passion for poultry genetics and hands-on farm work.
