We are looking for a talented and energetic Sales Representative based in the Hartford, CT area to join our Sales team. This position is a great fit for an individual who is highly motivated, a great communicator, enjoys sales and customer service, and the satisfaction that comes with servicing customer accounts.
Job Summary:
The Sales Territory/Account Manager is responsible for building and developing the business within the territory, managing sales activities, targeting potential customers to sell the product, developing relationships with customers to ensure sales and orders are completed.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Actively manage and grow accounts in a specific territory. This will include a large, pre-existing customer base.
- Responsible for selling and distributing products.
- Maintain close communication with manager and/or showroom staff, providing timely follow-ups on the showroom’s requests.
- Maintain constant communication with the manager about the performance of the accounts.
- Understand customer's needs to provide real, effective solutions.
- Opens new accounts, servicing and expanding footprint in the showrooms.
- Builds and expands the business within the territory by calling and visiting potential customers.
- Drives a box truck within the territory.
- Sets up displays and maintains displays (hand boards and loose tile samples) based on specifications.
- Maintains storage unit with a full inventory of samples, receives shipments, labeling, and storing samples. Responsible for picking up returns as needed.
- Fills out call reports daily.
- Files claims and possible job site visits.
Other Responsibilities:
Responsible for keeping the company vehicle clean and well-maintained conditions.
Independence of Judgment:
This position exercises independent judgment and makes a decision that impacts the business.
Travel:
Travel required throughout the territory.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Competencies:
- Must be able and willing to travel frequently throughout the sales territory.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills are a must.
- Ability to develop sales strategies by analyzing sales trends and identifying opportunities for growth within the territory.

Work Environment:
The work environment will be in showrooms, storage unit, and driving a box truck. Indoor and outdoor temperatures depending on location weather may be cold, hot, humid, wet, etc.
Minimum Requirements:
- 3-5 years of proven experience as a Territory Manager
- Proven track record of increasing sales and revenue; field sales experience is preferred
- Working knowledge in MS Office
- Must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- This position requires a DOT Medical Certification Card.
- Must be able to lift boxes or packages of up to 75 pounds.
