Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail Dispensary Manager to oversee daily operations, drive sales, and ensure compliance at our cannabis retail location. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for the cannabis industry, and a thorough understanding of New York’s regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations, including opening/closing procedures, inventory management, and staff scheduling.
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of budtenders and support staff to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Ensure strict compliance with New York State cannabis laws, including age verification, product tracking, and reporting.
- Oversee inventory levels and coordinate with vendors to maintain stock of high-quality products.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints to ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Analyze sales data and implement strategies to meet revenue targets and increase profitability.
- Maintain security protocols to protect staff, customers, and inventory.
- Represent the dispensary positively in the community and foster local relationships.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in retail management, preferably in cannabis, pharmacy, or similar regulated industries.
- Deep knowledge of New York State cannabis laws and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in POS systems and familiarity with seed-to-sale tracking software (e.g., METRC).
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must meet state licensing requirements, including passing a background check.
Preferred:
- Cannabis industry experience and familiarity with cannabis products and their uses.
- Certifications in cannabis education or management.
