Position Overview:
The General Manager is responsible for providing strategic direction, maintaining day-to-day store operations, and driving company desired results. The GM oversees the daily operation of the retail store, monitors staff management, and collaborates with corporate support and accounting departments to ensure compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure full compliance with local and state statutes, rules, and regulations.
- Implement retail store operating policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe environment for employees and customers.
- Screen, interview, and hire applicants for the retail store (in concert with corporate Human Resources when applicable).
- Oversee staff screening, interviewing, and hiring.
- Communicate effectively with staff to ensure employee relations and proper labor practices.
- Continuously evaluate the sales training program and work with management to improve it as needed.
- Implement an effective training program for employees in customer service and company products.
- Provide ongoing training on common medical conditions and company products beneficial for certain ailments.
- Ensure ongoing training related to company cannabis-derived products, their effects, and consumption methods.
- Ensure ongoing training on the company loyalty/rewards program.
- Consult with the VP of Finance to manage expenses and ensure sound recordkeeping and fiscal compliance.
- Create and manage store staffing schedules.
- Run and analyze management reports and performance metrics to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient operations.
