Major Purpose of This Job
The Supervisor will oversee the production process in our Sports Coatings and Pickle Flex Pro operations by managing personnel and ensuring manufacturing runs smoothly and efficiently. This role demands a team builder and motivator, highly focused on accuracy and meeting timelines. It also requires being highly engaged with multiple teams and hands-on in the operation process.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the acrylics team: Assign tasks, provide training, and ensure all safety and operational procedures are followed.
- Coordinate workflows and adjust schedules as necessary to optimize productivity and meet customer demand.
- Work with the purchasing department to ensure the proper level of raw materials and supplies are in stock to meet demand.
- Ensure the team properly measures and accurately mixes each formulation, following all production procedures.
- Collaborate with Junior Chemist and Chemist to ensure all products are authorized through Quality Control prior to packaging.
- Ensure the team documents all incoming raw materials and batch numbers associated with production. Keep proper logs to ensure batches are easily accessible should there be any field issues.
- Create and maintain processes and ensure continuous improvement as a focus.
- Complete understanding and adherence to 6S Manufacturing.
Working Conditions
- Typically located in a production facility with no air conditioning.
- Occasional outside work, exposure to the elements.
- Travel requirements: up to 10% of the time.
Experience, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements
- Excellent communicator both verbally and in writing.
- Experience with managing associates.
- Experience with 6S and the principles of Lean Manufacturing or the willingness to learn these principles.
- Strong understanding of production processes, machinery, and equipment.
- Familiarity with manufacturing software, NetSuite a plus.
Education and Training Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or general studies, or extensive production experience that would be considered equivalent.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
