Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed during food preparation and handling.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new pastry recipes and menu items.
- Package finished products for display or catering orders, ensuring presentation meets quality standards.
- Maintain an organized and clean workspace, adhering to kitchen cleanliness protocols.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies needed for pastry production.
- Participate in catering events as required, showcasing pastry skills in various settings.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role in a culinary environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations related to food handling and production.
- Familiarity with various baking techniques and pastry styles, including cakes, tarts, cookies, and confections.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus but not mandatory; hands-on experience will be highly valued.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in food preparation.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively within the kitchen environment.
