What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Laboratory Scientist position at Harba Solutions Inc.?
Job Responsibilities:
- Assess the acceptability of specimens for testing based on established criteria.
- Perform both routine and complex technical procedures in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation to ensure it functions correctly.
- Make technical decisions related to testing and problem resolution.
- Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents and controls.
- Accurately and promptly report test results to contribute to quality patient care.
- Conduct and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
- Identify and restock testing bench supplies as needed.
- Assist with specimen processing when required.
- Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or compliance with local regulatory requirements.
- 0-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience required.
- A State Medical Technologist license may be necessary.
- ASCP or AMT certification is preferred or required.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Salary : $30 - $40
