Overview
We are seeking skilled Bakers to join our team for our busy season May through September. The Harbert Swedish Bakery has a wide a vast array of baked goods so there are many areas to explore. Baking shifts start between 3:30 am - 6am.
Bread and Donuts: This person would primarily make, proof, and bake all breads, make and fry donuts, and make and assemble additional pastries such as cinnamon rolls and pastries.
Baker: this person would help with the daily bake with traying up goods, baking, and finishing them to get ready for the bakery cases.
Bakery Production: This person would help with additional doughs, batters, and production where needed.
These roles are flexible and will have overlap. We would like to hire an addition 2-3 bakers to get through the summer.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, bread, and other baked goods
- Ensure all baked goods meet quality standards and are presented attractively
- Monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the baking area
- Maintain communication with others and work as a team to produce the best quality and consistent product for our very well loved bakery.
Experience
Due to the seasonal setting, baking experience is preferred but we are also willing to train someone with kitchen experience.
- Previous experience working as a Baker in a bakery, restaurant, or similar setting is preferred
- Knowledge of baking techniques, methods, and equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team setting
-must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds
-preferred ability to lift and carry 100 pounds with a second person.
