Summary
The New Business Developer is accountable for contributing to HarbisonWalker Internationals overall business performance by coordinating inquiries and proposals to develop relationships with engineering firms, original equipment manufacturers, technology owners and other entities responsible for buying and specifying refractories to gain approval and acceptance of HarbisonWalker International products and services. This role will attract new clients and build solid relationships with them to help drive business growth.
Responsibilities
Cultivating productive relationships with engineering firms, original equipment manufacturers and technology owners to gain approval and acceptance of HarbisonWalker International products and services
Securing inquiries and orders for new business opportunities including projects
Understanding the customers’ explicit and implied needs and coordinating inquiries and proposals tailored to customer
Tracking quotations and opportunities
Coordinating closely with the project management team, CAS team and VAS team to secure project business and ensure customer requirements are being met
Pursuing new business at the direction of segment teams
Requirements
Requires B.S. degree in Ceramics, Material Engineering, Marketing or related field
Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty
Computer operation skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel expertise
Strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Analytical skills and the ability to assemble and quickly analyze data
Industry-specific knowledge coupled with the ability to manage supplier relationships
Excellent organization skills with accurate and precise attention to detail
Self-motivation with the ability to adapt quickly
The New Business Developer requires four plus (4 ) years of experience in business development or account management/selling including prospecting and strategic approach to a territory/client base.
