What are the responsibilities and job description for the State Support Team Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant position at Harbor Brand?
Harbor is currently looking to add a State Support Team Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant to our pediatric/youth team in Toledo. This individual provides macro-level consultation work, supporting Ohio’s regional State Support Teams through Ohio’s Department of Children and Youth. This innovative position provides focused ECMH Programmatic Consultation to the Ohio Department of Education’s (ODE) State Support Team (SST) consultant and partner districts in region 1, including 13 counties. As a part of the Statewide System of Support, the SST collaborates with schools, families, regional partners and ODE through a continuous improvement process to ensure each child in Ohio has access to a high-quality education.
Position is full-time, 40 hours per week, and remote.
Education/Experience/Other Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Child and Family Studies, Education, or related degree from an accredited college or university is required.
- Professional license in Ohio preferred (LPC, LPCC, LSW, LISW, etc.).
- Candidate is required to earn their Ohio ECMH Professional Credential once eligible; candidate may be required to earn their Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist (OCPS) certification.
- Have basic, knowledge, experience and demonstrated level of skill in early childhood development, early care and education and early childhood mental health.
- Candidate will have strong attention to detail and be self-motivated and organized, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
- CPR/First Aid and NCI/CPI Certifications required within 90 days of employment.
- Must have a valid Driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and be deemed insurable through Harbor’s vehicle insurance carrier.
- Must be proficient and accurate in computer use, including Microsoft Word.
- When applicable, non-licensed staff will be required to complete 20 hours of CEUs every 24 months
Essential Job Competencies/Primary Duties:
- Establishes & maintains a professional working relationship with partners in the community.
- Provides programmatic consultation to SST xx as part of the Ohio ECMHC in SST Expansion Program.
- Designs and implements programmatic consultation plans in conjunction SST consultants.
- Provides training to early childhood staff.
- Participates in consultation-based projects.
- Collects and enters data as required by ODMHAS into prescribed data systems.
- Participates in Ohio Approved training on early childhood specific topics for ECMH credential.
- Attends as scheduled and participates in supervision, team meetings, professional development, First Aid/CPR training and serves on agency committees, as appropriate.
- Participates in reflective supervision, including being on time and coming prepared to discuss experiences or dilemmas, maintaining an openness to feedback, developing awareness of internal response to work, exploring impact of internal beliefs on the work, allowing support and reflecting on the supervision experience to enhance professional practice and personal growth.
- Participates in implementation of grant funded/contract programs and maintains records in compliance with grant requirements. Appropriately documents services and provides to engaged parties, including families and childcare centers.
