What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook dietary aide position at Harbor Health & Rehab?
We are now hiring full time Dietary Cooks and part-time Dietary Aides , we do support the vaccine mandate, but we do except religious and medical exemptions - your primary purpose of the dietary aide position is to provide assistance in all dietary functions as directed / instructed and in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures
Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inner-department personnel, as well as with other departments within the facility to assure that food service can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the residents .
Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm emvironment throughout the department.
Dietary Service includes :
As the Dietary Cook you will communicate with Food Service Manager, follow menus and special diet instructions, meet required meal schedules and supervises departmental services as assigned by the Food Service Manager
Preparing and serving meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
Assist in serving meals as nessary and on a timely manner
Serve food in accordance wirh established portion control procedures
Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures
Clean work tables, meat blocks, refrigerators , etc.
Sweep and mop floors as directed

Return clean utensils to proper storage areas

Carry out garbage and keep work areas clean, dry and free of hazardous equipment,supplies, etc.
Set up meal trays, food carts , dining room etc. as directed
Assist cook in preparaing meals
Obtain food supplies for next meal
Assist in checking diet trays before distribution
Remove food trays from carts, dining room, etc. and take to dishwashing area.
Prepare and deliver snacks as instructed
Follow established Infection Control and Universal Precautions policies and procedures when performing daily tasks
Follow all safety regulations and precautions at all times.
