What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activity Coordinator position at Harbor House Assisted Living - Dementia Care?
We are seeking a creative, compassionate, Activity Coordinator to assist in presenting and coordinating activity programs for our residents, as well as our residents with Alzheimer's or dementia. You will help plan fun and safe trips to suitable destinations, such as theaters, movies, luncheons, beaches, music venues, as well as religious and cultural programs. You will also be expected to perform planned activities for the residents daily. These activities can be art therapy, music therapy, sing-a-longs, cooking classes, or even games. In this role you will get to know our residents; their hobbies, special interests, what makes them happy, and use this knowledge to encourage residents to participate in the activities.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills/qualifications:
- One year's prior experience working with a senior population, and those with Alzheimer's disease and dementia a plus
- Recreation activity experience a plus - art therapy, music therapy
- Able to create programs that get residents involved and excited
- Be dependable and able to supervise activities, special events and safe outings for the residents
- Excellent communication skills and always have a positive outlook and professional attitude
- ability to lead classes and speak in front of a group setting with ease, confidence and clarity
- Be fully vaccinated

This is a Full-Time Position. Tuesday -Saturday, 8:30-5:00pm
$17.00-$19.00 per hour.
