Harbor House is seeking an experienced, dynamic individual to maintain a safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment in a childcare setting - for the children of domestic violence survivors residing at a domestic violence agency. In addition, duties include providing hands-on activities, implementation of curriculum and general facility/classroom cleaning.
Education and Training: Minimum High School diploma or GED; CDA preferred, 45-hour DCF training, CPR/First Aid. This position will require employees to pass the State of Florida requirements for childcare providers. Professional or non-professional experience may be substituted for formal education at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer.
Other Job Requirements: This position requires the knowledge of Basic child growth and development; indicators of abuse; ability to respond to children and adults in crisis; to lift and hold 40-pound children; to learn the dynamics and effects of domestic violence on children and adults. Basic computer skills are required. A current, valid Florida drivers' license and a safe driving record are required for this position.
*The ability to read, write and speak fluently in both English and Spanish is a plus.
Experience: A Minimum of two years' experience in the early childhood field.
