Job Description:
Harbor House of Central Florida, a well-respected non-profit organization that provides services to individuals affected by domestic violence in Central Florida, is seeking a Contract Mental Health Therapist to join our team. As a contractor, you will have the flexibility to set your own hours while providing high-quality therapeutic services. The therapist will work with individuals, families, and groups to provide counseling and therapeutic support for survivors dealing with a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and other emotional challenges that may have resulted from domestic violence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions in a clinical setting.
- Assess survivors' mental health needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Document treatment progress and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Collaborate with other mental health professionals and healthcare providers as needed.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards and state and federal regulations.
- Offer crisis intervention when necessary.
- Participate in case reviews and treatment planning meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
- Active Florida state license (LMSW, LMHC) required.
- Current Professional Liability Insurance (Malpractice Insurance) is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in providing mental health therapy, preferably in a non-profit or community mental health setting.
- Strong knowledge of mental health diagnoses, treatment modalities, and ethical guidelines.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and address complex clinical issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and survivor-focused approach to therapy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and/or families.
- Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) is a plus.
