Harbor House of Central Florida is Orange County's state certified Domestic Violence service provider. We offer a variety of services including a 24-hour crisis hotline, shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, and community education.
Community Services Junior Advocate
Bilingual Preferred (Spanish / English)
Full-time Position
The Community Services Junior Advocate will provide crisis intervention, safety planning, problem solves with survivors of domestic violence with appropriate feedback and referrals.
Assist in the maintaining of current and applicable community resources but also work closely with other Harbor House Departments.
Education and Training : High School diploma / GED is required, AA degree preferred. Professional experience may be substituted for formal education at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer.
Other Job Requirements : Must read, write, and speak fluently in both English and Spanish. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and use good judgment.
Basic to intermediate computer skills required. Ability to provide effective and immediate crisis intervention for survivors.
Valid Florida Driver's License and cover-able by agency insurance. Completion of CORE Competency training within 30 days of hire is required.
Experience : A minimum of 1-year social services experience preferred.
