Harbor is seeking a full-time Facilities and Vehicle Upkeep Custodian. Individual schedules and transports vehicles for maintenance. Performs regular cleaning of vehicles and ensures vehicles are on a routine maintenance schedule.
Education / Experience / Other Requirements :
High school diploma or GED.
Must be at least 23 years of age.
Must have a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and show proof of personal auto insurance policy to be deemed insurable with Harbor’s vehicle insurance carrier.
Must remain up to date on annual Defensive Driving for 15-Passenger Vans training requirement.
Essential Job Competencies / Primary Duties :
Schedules and transports vehicles for maintenance.
Has oil changed, tires rotated, and manufacturer’s recommended maintenance performed on each vehicle every 4 months at the dealership or approved service center.
Performs regular cleaning of vehicles.
Sweeps out interior of vehicles every 3 months and spot cleans any problem areas and log on vehicle log sheet.
Machine wet cleans interior of vehicles and replaces windshield wiper blades every 12 months. Logs this on the vehicle log sheet.
Has exterior of vehicle washed every 4 months and logs on vehicle sheet.
Replaces simple items such as wiper blades and washer fluid.
Conducts monthly safety checks of all vehicles and records checks on appropriate forms.
Transports new and returned vehicles to and from dealer.
Obtains quotes for repair of vehicles in accidents, or vehicles with mechanical problems, within 3 business days following accident or reported problem. Logs all problems and repairs on vehicle log sheet.
Picks up and returns vehicles from lease / purchase or repair within 3 business days of lease inception / purchase, lease termination, or approved repair.
Maintains current license plates, registration, and insurance information on and in the vehicles.
Maintains key inventory. All key replacements will be obtained within 3 business days following request
Maintains the cleanliness and safety of Harbor facilities, inside and outside.
Maintains the grounds of all Harbor facilities.
Assists in light bulb replacement and other minor facility tasks.
Lifting and moving of furniture and equipment.
Assists as needed with snow / ice removal from Harbor location sidewalks, steps and parking lots in a timely manner as needed.
Runs errands related to maintenance and office set-up / moves.
Assists in preparing areas for improvements such as carpet removal and minor demolition.
Performs interior and exterior painting as assigned. Assists maintenance staff as needed.
