Assistant Teacher (part-time)

Overview

Harbor Lights Edu-Care Center is a Christ-centered educational daycare located in Harrison, Ohio, committed to nurturing the hearts and minds of young children through a foundation in faith and academics. Serving children from Infants to Pre-K, we provide full-day care, five days a week, in a safe, loving, and structured environment where children can grow and thrive.

We are seeking passionate Educators who are excited to integrate Christian values into daily learning experiences. The ideal candidate will be a positive role model, enthusiastic about early childhood development, and committed to education.

Responsibilities (Assistant Teacher)

• Support the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate curriculum that fosters early childhood learning and development within a Christian framework
• Help maintain a safe and nurturing classroom environment that encourages children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth
• Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and engaging classroom setting in compliance with state childcare regulations and center standards
• Model and reinforce positive behavior through patience and encouragement
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and center leadership to support classroom goals and the overall mission of the center
• Build positive, respectful relationships with children and families, and support open communication as needed
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
• Follow all policies and procedures of Harbor Lights Edu-Care Center and assist in meeting Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) requirements

Qualifications (Assistant Teacher)

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience in a licensed childcare or early learning setting preferred but not required
• A heart for working with children and a willingness to support faith-based education
• Must meet Ohio state licensing requirements, including background checks, CPR/First Aid certification, and child abuse prevention training (certifications can be provided if not yet completed)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexible, dependable, and eager to learn alongside experienced educators

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $13.25 per hour
