Overview
Harbor Lights Edu-Care Center is a Christ-centered educational daycare located in Harrison, Ohio, committed to nurturing the hearts and minds of young children through a foundation in faith and academics. Serving children from Infants to Pre-K, we provide full-day care, five days a week, in a safe, loving, and structured environment where children can grow and thrive.
We are seeking passionate Educators who are excited to integrate Christian values into daily learning experiences. The ideal candidate will be a positive role model, enthusiastic about early childhood development, and committed to education.
Responsibilities
- Implement the provided age-appropriate curriculum that support early childhood learning and development within a Christian framework
- Foster a safe classroom environment that supports children’s spiritual, cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth
- Maintain a clean, safe, and engaging classroom setting aligned with state childcare regulations and center standards
- Encourage positive behavior through guidance, patience, and principles
- Collaborate with team members to support the overall mission of the center
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on their child's development
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and trainings
- Uphold all policies and procedures of Harbor Lights Edu-Care Center and meet Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Previous experience in a licensed childcare facility or early learning environment strongly preferred
- A strong personal faith and willingness to integrate Christian teachings and values into daily lessons preferred
- Must meet state licensing requirements including background checks, CPR/First Aid certification, and child abuse prevention training (provided if needed)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A heart for working with children and families
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain a spirit of kindness, encouragement, and flexibility
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $15.25 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
