Job Description: Inside Sales Representative
Position Overview:
We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Inside Sales Representative with 1-5 years of experience in sales, ideally related to warehousing or drayage. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a driven sales professional to prove themselves and advance to an outside sales position within our team. The Inside Sales Representative will be responsible for managing small to medium-sized accounts, driving retention and growth, and supporting the sales team with various tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management:
- Manage and maintain relationships with small and medium-sized existing accounts.
- Focus on driving retention and growth within these accounts to maximize revenue.
Customer Relationship Building:
- Maintain strong relationships with top 3PL customers to generate drayage volume, ensuring optimal utilization of company assets.
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, addressing any issues and providing exceptional customer service.
Business Development:
- Grow the cross dock/transload business, focusing on warehousing services that do not require long-term storage.
- Identify and unearth new sales leads, assessing their potential and either passing them to sales managers or managing them independently if they fall below a certain size threshold.
Sales Support:
- Assist sales managers by covering customer visits, preparing presentations, and handling other preparatory work as needed.
- Collaborate closely with the sales team to achieve collective goals and ensure seamless communication and coordination.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of sales experience, preferably within warehousing, drayage, or a related industry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong desire to grow within the sales profession.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of the logistics, warehousing, or drayage industry is preferred.
Compensation:
- Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Commission: Eligible for commission in line with the company’s sales team structure, offering significant earning potential based on performance.
- Advancement Opportunities: This role serves as a proving ground for future advancement to an outside sales position.
